An apron designed for ceramicists and potters
Working with clay takes precision, patience and the right equipment. A pottery apron is essential to protect your clothes from splashes of clay, glaze and water, while giving you complete freedom of movement. Whether you are a professional ceramicist or a modelling enthusiast, it will be with you for every creation, from throwing to glazing.
Why choose a pottery apron?
- A sturdy, stain resistant fabric: Made from heavy canvas or cotton, it effectively protects against wet clay and dust while staying easy to clean.
- An ergonomic cut for greater comfort: With crossback or adjustable straps, it offers excellent support without restricting your movements while modelling or throwing.
- Practical pockets to keep your tools within reach: Ideal for storing modelling tools, loop tools, sponges and other accessories essential to your work.
- A simple, authentic style: Inspired by craft workshops, it combines looks and functionality to suit every maker.

An apron designed to free your creativity
A pottery apron is more than just protective clothing: it becomes a creative companion, letting you work clay with ease and without constraint. Whether you are throwing a piece on the wheel, hand building or applying glazes, it is with you at every step. Discover our collection and choose the apron that will bring out your talent!
Designed for the wheel
Throwing sends slip and clay water onto your stomach and thighs. Waterproof or coated canvas is therefore ideal: it does not soak through and rinses clean with a splash of water at the end of a session. The cut should stay roomy so it does not hinder your arms while centering and pulling up the piece, and reach low enough to protect your legs when you sit at the wheel.
Practical in the studio
A large front pocket keeps a sponge, a loop tool or a cutting wire within reach. Adjustable ties let you fit the apron whether you are throwing, modeling standing up or glazing. A smooth material has the advantage of not holding on to dry clay, which comes off with a rub.
Care
Rinse off slip with clean water before it dries, then wipe down coated canvas or wash washable fabric at 30 degrees. Dry flat to keep the shape and avoid deep creases.

Frequently asked questions
Which material is best for a pottery apron?
Waterproof or coated canvas is the most suitable: it resists the clay water from the wheel and rinses clean easily. A smooth surface has the advantage of not holding on to dry clay, which comes off with a rub.
Which cut is most comfortable for throwing?
Choose a roomy cut that does not hinder your arms when centering and that reaches low enough to protect your legs while seated. Adjustable ties let you adapt the apron to throwing as well as glazing.
How do you clean off slip?
Rinse with clean water before the clay dries, then wipe down coated canvas or wash fabric at 30 degrees. Avoid letting slip dry, as it is harder to remove once it has hardened.
